Salt Lake City Homes: Remodeling Kitchens & Baths on a Budget

Regarding kitchens and baths in Salt Lake City homes, sometimes it makes sense to work with what you have and improve upon it.

Old kitchen cabinets might look nice with paint, new hardware and counter tops.  Or maybe you just need a sink and a faucet, a new appliance or a flooring upgrade from linoleum to tile.

You just need to figure out what you can keep and what needs to be replaced.  This approach will often have a higher return on investment than a complete remodel as long as the work is done right and looks appealing.

In the bath, a new medicine cabinet, vanity, faucet, light fixture, paint, towel racks, throw rug and shower curtain could be done for much less than a complete remodel, and can  make your bathroom beautiful!

Adding a second bath to a 3 bedroom 1 bath home is a typically a very good investment and could return more than the cost of the bath in some cases.

Sometimes building a garage, if you don’t already have one can make a big difference as well, but again, you should do this because you want it, not just for resale, because you probably will not get all you spent back, or at least not right away.
